Make your trip to Peru comfortable. Cheap, convenient, and safe ride-hailing app “Cabify”

This time, I will write an article about the ride-hailing app "Cabify", which was very convenient while traveling in Peru.

Local SIM card required

When I go on a long-term trip overseas, I always make sure to buy a local SIM card. This is because you may need a local number when communicating locally. Also, when authenticating an app, it is often authenticated by SMS, which is very convenient. This app also has SMS authentication, so you will need a SIM card.

Taxi driver at Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport

Our journey into Peru began in Lima. As soon as you leave Lima's airport, you'll be greeted with a barrage of taxi offers. Whenever I feel this heat, I always think, ``I'm in Peru.''
I couldn't get a SIM card at the Lima airport, so I thought, ``Well, I guess I'll just take a taxi to the hotel first,'' which was a big mistake.
From the Lima Jorge Chávez International Airport to the Miraflores area where I was staying, I knew the average price from the last time I came, so I negotiated with a taxi and they readily accepted.

Unexpected and outrageous charges

On the train, we were having fun talking in broken English, but as we approached our destination, Miraflores, he showed us a mysterious price list and said, ``These are the prices.'' I had so many questions that I was wondering, and then he said, ``You can pay by card.'' What was the price you negotiated before boarding? When I asked him about it, he said, ``It's about the US dollar.''
"They got me···"
I paid the amount I was told because I wanted to get to the accommodation as soon as possible due to the long journey of over 20 hours and the time difference.
I felt at ease because the driver was well-dressed and the car was kept clean.

You should use the regular amount of Cabify

After getting the SIM card, I looked at the fare from Lima Airport to Miraflores on the app and it was 45 Sol. It was 1/3 of what I paid. It's a bad memory, so please try to calculate the amount.
Cabify comes to your current location and also has a driver evaluation function, so you can feel at ease.

It is possible to buy a SIM card at Lima Airport, although it is more expensive and has a limited time limit. In order to avoid taxi rip-offs, it might have been a good idea to buy a SIM card here.
Also, if you are negotiating, be sure to check whether the price is in ``Sols'' or ``Dollars.'' I will never use a taxi from the airport again. lol
